  Mental health

Challenging the stigmas around mental health.

Ethos: Serious Media has developed a strong reputation for producing honest, sensitive documentary programmes which accurately represent serious social and cultural issues.

We have worked extensively to communicate issues affecting people living with mental health problems.

Impact: Our DVD, WebVideo and CDROM programmes raise the profile of mental health; present information, advice and guidance; and equip charities including Mind, NHS Partnership Trusts, Strategic Health Authorities, support organisations, to be able raise the profile of this diverse issue and thus affect change.

Our Approach with all projects is to allow individuals the opportunity to communicate their own specific stories and experiences as service users, support workers, carers and health professionals.

Target audiences for these programmes include service users themselves; support organisations, employers, mental health professionals, policy makers and strategists.

Client comments...

"I am delighted to let you know that www.inspiringlives.org.uk website has launched to coincide with World Mental Health Day, so a massive thank you to you, Neal and Greg for all your help and hard work with the project. All 5 contributors and the project group are delighted with the results and the wider feed back has been fantastic!"

"Having now seen the videos of me and the others being inspiring I had to write to thank and congratulate you and your cameraman on the work. You have managed to make me look good. I must admit to having moments of anxiety about how it would all turn out but I need not have worried. It is excellent. If, when I am called to that great garden shed in the sky where God builds universes, I am required to give an account of my life I would like to ask you to do the editing and the presentation.  I am sure that I would stand a better chance of gaining admission."
