Disadvantaged groups Serious Media was
established in 1998 to work with disadvantaged individuals and
organisations within our societies.
We have developed a strong reputation for
producing honest, sensitive documentary programmes which accurately
represent serious and cultural issues.
Our approach allows individuals to have a voice
and to speak about their experiences honestly and openly; trusting
that they will be accurately represented.
These strong insights into issues, frequently accompanied with additional information and advice from support
workers and sector professionals, allow target audiences to better
understand and thus much more affectively respond.
Key issues we work with include:
- Individuals with disabilities, including physical
disabilities; learning disabilities; mental health issues and sensory
disabilities
- People who are long term unemployed
- Offenders and ex-offenders
- Asylum seekers and refugees
- Minority ethnic groups
- Individuals living in deprived regions
Our diverse client group include:
- Local and regional authorities
- Charities and support organisations
- NHS Partnership Trusts and Strategic Health Authorities
- Mental health services
- The Department of Health
- Schools, colleges, and universities
- The European Union
- Regional Development Agencies

Client comments...
"Gill at Serious Media was commissioned to research and make a collaborative multi-language DVD. She worked exceptionally well on what was a very sensitive topic and was both professional and approachable. She brought the whole project in on budget despite having to change the brief, and came up with creative ideas to ensure completion of the project. I would recommend Gill without hesitation."

"Just got the DVD and brochure in the post. Amazing!!!! I 'm absolutely stunned by how brilliant this is - your identification of information needs is spot-on, and the two items together completely handle any of
the essential questions EU nationals might have concerning living and working in the UK. And so beautifully and coherenetly presented. Thanks a zillion!"
